Nick woke up Monday morning quite excited. He didn’t even say good morning in response to me entering his bedroom. He started singing, “On the road again!” I cracked up. He knew that we were traveling to Ireland and understood the sentiment in the song.
He couldn’t articulate his excitement but he could communicate it to us through a song. That is one of the amazing things about how Nick communicates with us.
If we listen closely to what he is singing we learn a lot. Some mornings he sings, “Sunshine on my shoulder” by John Denver or “the River” by Garth Brooks.
Sundays it is hymns. Definitely applicable to the activity at hand.
